I am 50+ and JUST found out that walnut trees are not "friendly" trees to ALL plants.  Does anyone know about planting dahlias near a walnut tree?  Also, does anyone know if there are any ill effects with this tree and humans.  I suffer from an auto-immune disease and just recently moved in this house.  I've had a bad summer (usually summers are best for me) and am wondering if this tree has any thing to do with it.  Thanks for your help.  Shari  dodd@ellijay.com

Hi, I have lots of little white birch trees coming up again this year.  I have in the past allowed these to go a year or so and then moved them to a part of the yard where they are now 30 feet tall.  They are attractive and weep down in the garden and give filtered sun in the hot summer.  Another item is baby Japanese Maples which are fast growers too and can be pruned all the time they are growing so that they become tall trees that you can walk under or bush/shrub types that screen.  They turn color in the fall and are beautiful.  My problem is that I don't know their botanical names.  Here in California everything grows well but where we are in Northern California at the 2500 ft level we have the 4 seasons like New England which includes snow, frost and freezing weather.  I would like to trade for daylilies, colors I don't have Or cannas.   thanks  Mary Cabinfever@infostations.com

Hi!  I have blackberry lily seeds I would like to trade for any ornamental allium seeds/bulbs, lily seeds/bulbs or delphinium seeds.  Blackberry lily seeds are sowed easily by pressing them into the ground in spring after frost or in the fall.  The flowers are 1"+ and are orange with red speckles.  They do not require frequent watering.  The seed pods split in the fall and the seed clusters look like bright juicy blackberries.  These are beautiful in dried flower arrangements.  Please email me at tofer9@aol.com

Dear "Intimate Gardener",
I will never be worried about ordering from your company!  I wish that I could remember the name of the very kind and considerate lady who called me on Friday morning to explain the problem that she found with my having two separate orders for the same item.  She was so kind and patient as she asked about  the two orders in my name.  Then she proceeded to take care of the matter for me, as she volunteered to contact the credit card company.  It was my mistake; and, I am sorry for the inconvenience that it caused you.
Thank you so very much for helping a novice internet patron--me!  And, thank you for following up on what appeared to have been an error made in an order.  Please know that when I say, "Thank you", it is with great sincerity.
I am anxious to receive a package of beautiful, garden, hand tools from you!  If you will send some more spring-like weather and sunshine along with the tools, my smile will be extra big!!
                                     Sincerely,
                                      Julie Hughes
