to you our Customers. Offering quality items at fair prices.
We work closely with the manufacturers to insure timely
delivery and list, whenever possible, the estimated delivery
time to your door. If no delivery time is referenced, we
estimate 2 weeks to your door. Custom orders require
manufacturing time plus travel. At this time we offer
Standard Ground shipping through our on line order system.
Special Handling is sometimes available please email for
information.
The Intimate Gardener is not responsible for any changes
in the estimated arrival time. We ask our Customers to begin
shopping early for gifts to insure arrival in time for the
event. We suggest printing a copy of the item picture to
wrap in the case the item does not arrive in time.
Returns: Please notify us immediately if a item is
damaged. We will arrange for the return and replacement of
your purchased item.
If for some reason you are unhappy with your purchase,

will be given for the price of the item only. Unfortunately

original packaging and in saleable condition. Please
properly package and insure the item so a claim can be filed
with the carrier if damage occurs during return shipping.

packaged.

History: The Intimate Gardener began in Fall 1995
as a mail order catalog offering 150 items for the 1995
Holiday Season. "Woman's Day Garden Planner & Product Guide"
Nov. 4, 1996, "Better Homes and Gardens Garden Ideas &
Outdoor Living" Spring 1997 and "Midwest Living" Fall 1997,
Magazines published reviews and products for The Intimate
Gardener catalog.
In March 1999 The Intimate Gardener posted 1200 items on
the internet. Fall 1999 it was decided to discontinue the
printed catalog.
April 2000 a new Internet Store was opened with a secured
ordering system and shopping cart offering over 4000 items
from 100+ manufacturers. New categories were added: Home
Furniture, Home Accessories, Children, Pets, Specials,
Contractors and Gift Suggestions.
This year we are advertising in Better Homes and Gardens
Special Interest Publications: Garden Ideas and Outdoor
Living April 2001, Garden Decks and Landscape May 2000,
Outdoor Casual June 2001, Fine Gardening Sept. 2001 and
Country Garden Sept. 2001. We have our tools mentioned in
This Old House Special Issue April 2001 and Victoria
Magazine June 2001. One of our sprinklers is shown in Real
Simple June 2001. In 2002 you saw us in Womans Day, House &
Garden, Fine Gardening and Chicago Home & Garden. For 2003
we feature a Hammock Chair with Stand and Rustic Cedar
furnishings in Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest
Publications: Garden Ideas and Garden Shed.
Having outgrown the store software, an upgraded Internet
Store launched November 24, 2000 with more features for
easier shopping. See our "Alphabetical Master Index" which
lists all the item categories from all of the index pages in
our Internet Store. Our "Search for an item" includes a
search for collections of items. This search collects all
items with a similar theme from their regular category onto
one page for your viewing. For example, "Hummingbird
Collection" may have Windsocks, Sundials, Stepping Stones,
etc. all with a Hummingbird theme.
We are adding to our collections for Holiday Shopping and
Spring Outdoor Living. We currently offer 7000 items for
Spring 2003.
We want to thank our Customers for referring Friends and
Family to The Intimate Gardener. We will continue to shop
for interesting, attractive and useful items for your Home
and Garden or special occassion Gifts.
